This small resort of 20 bungalows on the southeast coast of Africa offers a chilled vibe and barefoot living two minutes’ walk from the beach in the fishing village of Paje. If you want bar service while you’re relaxing, hang out at the hotel pool. For more action, grab one of the resort’s recliners down at the beach and watch fishing activities, or try a spot of kite surfing.

Paje by Night hotel is popular with groups of hip travellers, as well as couples of all ages and the young at heart. Friday is party night. The pool area is adjacent to the open-sided bar, lounge and restaurant, where free wi-fi is available. There are extra recliners and hammocks in a garden near the bungalows and a beauty spa for those wanting some quiet time.
