Located in the CBD, Newtown has vibrant bars, music venues and clubs. Melville, a suburb to the west of the city, has long been on the nightlife circuit, with an ever-changing roster of relaxed bars, cafes and restaurants centred around 7th Avenue. The city’s northern suburbs of Greenside, Fourways, Rivonia and Sandton are also popular for night-time activity. Greenside's bars and clubs draw a hip and trendy clientele, and the area is also popular with students. Fourways and Rivonia offer a more upmarket socialising scene, and Sandton's bars attract young professionals.
