Thanks to contributions from ordinary folk, the District Six Museum is a repository of the surviving heritage of the strong community that was forcibly removed to the Cape Flats. Displays include reconstructed rooms and memorabilia.

Getting there: The District Six Museum, on the corner of Buitenkant and Albertus Streets in central Cape Town, is open from 09h00 to 16h00 Tuesday to Saturday and on Monday mornings.
