SO WHERE’S NUMBER 101?
The answer might surprise you, but it will also be a huge relief if you’re short on budget after trying all the other weekends.
Take a holiday at home with yourself (or whoever lives with you).
We’re so often in the mode of ‘go out and do, do, do’ that we forget to enjoy the pleasures of simply being home for a whole weekend – with everything that you need and everyone you love around you.
Practise the art of ‘hermitting’ for a few weekends a year. The rules are simple:
So what can you do at home? Simply, whatever you most enjoy. Potter about and plant things in the garden, try a new gourmet recipe, dance up a frenzy to your favourite music, take long aromatherapy baths, get romantic with your beloved, play board games with your co-habitants, pitch a tent in the garden and sleep there, read a good novel or magazine, get creative with paint or beads, practise your yoga/kung fu/stretching/Tai chi moves or hop on your home exercise bike. If you follow all the above ‘rules’ of hermitting, you’re bound to feel pleasantly restored at the end of the weekend.
