HOW TO GET THERE

By road: Matjiesfontein is just off the N1, 231 km from Cape Town, between Touws River (54 km) and Laingsburg (27 km).

By rail: The Trans-Karoo passes through Matjiesfontein twice daily. It leaves Cape Town at 09h20 every morning, arriving in Matjiesfontein at 14h46. The train from Pretoria arrives in Matjiesfontein at 08h25 and in Cape Town at 14h15.
