The quickest route to Satara is to enter the ark at the Orpen Gate. You should leave yourself at least one hour to reach the camp. From Johannesburg the Orpen Gate can be reached via either the scenic Long Tom Pass or the slightly faster JG Strydom Tunnel route.
Alternatively, you can fly into the Lowveld: Comair flies regularly between Johannesburg and Skukuza, while Airlink offers daily service into Phalaborwa. Both airlines have fly-drive packages. For further information or to book a ticket contact your travel agent or the airlines directly.
